Prince on PaperI enjoyed the third book in the series just as much as the others, even if it was yet another take on the premise. I especially found the intersection between traditional fairy tales and modern royalty compelling.

The character development paths of Nya and Johan sucked me in on their own, which is important when the happily ever after is assured. Nya’s path toward independence and self-confidence had me cheering multiple times. I also loved a male hero who was not only allowed to have feelings, but feel them deeply.

The subplot was completely unexpected, but it was thrilling to read. Cole’s take on the royalty in small countries is refreshing, and while I’m not sure if more books are planned for this series, I would love a tale featuring Johan’s younger sibling.

Rating: 5 (out of 5) stars. Cross-posted on Amazon and Goodreads.
