I was supposed to be at StokerCon in Denver in 2022, but unfortunately, it occurred less than 2 weeks after the only time I came down with a certain illness. Therefore, I’m thrilled to return this year for the first time since 2019 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I’m incredibly excited to see a lot of people I’ve missed for the last few years to exchange hugs and news. Though I may primarily write fantasy, and as welcoming as the queer romance community has been, I continue to maintain that horror writers are some of the nicest people you will meet of any genre.
StokerCon 2023 June 15-18, 2023 Station Square Hotel Pittsburgh, Pennyslvania |
I am primarily attending to support the amazing publisher of my Steel Empires series, Raw Dog Screaming Press, and person their table in the dealer’s room so John and Jennifer can actually attend convention events. I’ll have a few copies of my books on hand, but lots of other cool titles to tell you about. You’re also welcome to drop by anytime just to chat!
However, a quiet perk to knowing one of the convention chairs is that I’m also sneaking into a bit of programming. Here’s my official schedule:
Friday
6:15 PM: Mass Author Signing
Saturday
9:00 AM: Let Me Tell You About My Research! (panel)
Join panelists to discuss some of the weirdest, coolest, most eye-opening, most infuriating,or most esoteric things they learned while researching their writing. How important is it to keep details realistic and historically accurate, and what can we get away with as writers?
–> With Jenny Kiefer, Paul Michael Anderson, Garrett Boatman, Cynthia Gomez, and Alma Katsu (I’m moderating!)
