Disclaimer: I am friends with the authors; I received an advanced ebook in exchange for an honest review.

This was a satisfying conclusion to the series of love stories in the town of River Hill! Max certainly waited long enough for his happily ever after as he fed all of the couples springing up around him. Falling for the social worker supervising his sudden guardianship of his orphaned niece was certainly not an expected meet cute, but I cheered for them every step of the way.

Max does the best he can with his niece Mia. On the one hand, more mis-steps might have made for interesting reading, but I don’t think Lizzie would have fallen for a man completely out of his depth in caring for the girl. In contrast, the external conflict of Lizzie’s job issue took a completely unexpected turn about halfway through the book, and I was totally invested in the path she followed.

I’m a sucker for weddings, so I was so pleased that the finale came during the wedding of the first River Hill couple. Overall, this was a fun series with compelling characters that I’m glad I got to know. The relationships weren’t cookie-cutter, with each couple, and each character, bringing something new to the story.

Highly recommended for all romance fans. I hope Norinne and Brinkley work together in the future — both are talented authors in their own right, and together they made a powerhouse storytelling couple of their own.

Rating: 5 (out of 5) stars. Cross-posted to Amazon and Goodreads.
