This is not a typical review, because this is not a typical book. I stumbled across this text while looking for books about the historical design and architecture of the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History in Washington, DC. This was a perfect research resource for what I needed. It was well-written, succinct, and easy to navigate. Considering it was written in 1913, that’s really all a reader can ask for!
After a few hours of combined reading and skimming, I have two full pages of handwritten notes that will be very helpful while I edit my latest novel, some scenes of which take place in this museum circa early 1940s.
Note: One page near the end of this ebook is “missing” because the person who scanned in the original copy accidentally left their hand in the shot.
