I just published my first queer paranormal romance, so where better to share it in public for the first time than a science-fiction convention? Joking aside, while I love speculative fiction in all forms, my life as a nerd began with Star Trek, and I love attending this local convention every year. And yes, I will have hardcopies of Earth and Water on hand, along with all of my other urban fantasy titles!

Even though this is a local event, I’m staying in the con hotel for the weekend. Below is my official schedule; the rest of the time, I’m always open for a drink, a meal, or just a chat.
Friday
5 PM: Guilty Pleasures (panel)
We want to know: what books are your guilty pleasures? You may be a die-hard science fiction fan… but what other kinds of books do you enjoy? Romance? Western? Home improvement? Cookbooks? Teen Angst? Come share your favorites in a judgment-free zone!
-> With T.A. Chafin, Mike McPhail, and Cheralyn Lambeth
Saturday
12 PM: Author Autograph Session
2 PM: LGBTQ+ Representation in Fandom Media (panel)
Let’s get down to the good, the bad, and the downright pearl clutching terrible representation for the LGBTQ+ community in the media we love, love to hate, and hate to love.
-> With D’Manda Martini, Jessica Crouse, and Dan Deevy
Sunday
10 AM: The Progression of Diversity in Trek (panel)
What The Original Series began, Deep Space Nine and Voyager continued, and Discovery took beyond the next level. Michael Burnham and company shatter more barriers of sexism, racism, and homophobia. There’s the regrettable “false start” of the original Number One, but now Strange New Worlds shares the lead. How/when was Trek ahead of the curve, and when, not so much?
-> With Rigel Ailur, Keith R.A. DeCandido, and Dan Deevy
12 PM: Author Autograph Session
