Happy New Year, friends! I had an amazing holiday cruising in the Bahamas with my family, then visiting friends in Atlanta for my birthday. As with most of my vacations, I spent most of my time reading (and only snuck in a little bit of work, but I couldn’t complain about the view).

Now that I’m home, however, we’re speeding full steam ahead toward the publication of Earth and Water!
A brief excerpt from Earth and Water…
Any glimpse with magesight revealed Archer’s capacity for power, but Kane never could have predicted the sheer amount of skill the other man possessed. With deft mental fingers, he cradled Kane’s magic safely in a nest of Toria’s sparkling electrical energy, and at the same time, Archer’s actual hand caught Kane’s.
Archer filled any cracks in the framework of Kane and Toria’s magic with his malleable energy. Their power receded, the work done, but Kane wanted to follow it deeper into the dark pools of Archer’s eyes. The constant drain eased, leaving Kane much steadier than before. Archer created a beautiful solution to an impossible problem. Completely improvised, having never worked directly with a pair of bonded mages. And drunk. The man might pull off miracles with research and preparation.
Except now, the lively presence of Archer’s power danced under Kane’s skin. The deeper connection he’d feared. The plots of entire romance novels revolved around two mages connecting on some primal level. Kane always scoffed at the notion, but then again, he’d always manipulated magic with Toria as if two halves of a brain worked hand in hand, hers almost indistinguishable from his own.
This new magic should have been an alien presence Kane wanted to be rid of. He should have fought it, but the reasons why seemed a distant memory. Instead, he wanted to revel in it. Wanted more of it. Wanted more of Archer.
When Toria released his arm, Kane allowed himself to draw closer to Archer. Toria scooted away from the couch, but Kane barely heard her words as he practically crawled into Archer’s lap. Something about finding a snack and returning later. Much later. He might have nodded acceptance, but his entire focus narrowed to the smooth skin beneath his thumb as he stroked at Archer’s nape.
The stateroom door snapped shut. As if it signaled a change in gravity, Kane surged toward Archer.
