Disclaimer: I am friends with both authors; however, I purchased this ebook for full price.

The latest installment in this small-town romance series pairs up a whiskey distiller with a barista, and the fact that the distiller is the lady and the barista is a guy is only one of the many things I loved about this book.

Maeve is feeling a bit left out with all her friends pairing up for their happily ever afters, until the worst barista in town joins their friend group. But the group’s pressure for them to pair up backfires, and they end up with a good friendship instead.

Then, Ben’s past as a lawyer catches up with him in the most unexpected way, and he has to figure out how to make “new Ben” work with the old.

This book could have easily been longer, to show more of Maeve and Ben’s developing friendship beyond the one or two scenes of them hanging out that we got. Ben also got most of the character development in this book, but to be fair, he’s the one who needed it. Her relationship woes aside, Maeve is delightfully sorted in her own life, and it was fun to see that success as a follow-up to the previous book in this series featuring her older brother.

I can’t wait for the final book in this lovely series!
