I felt a bit guilty enjoying a glass of port while reading this book, but I have a feeling that I’d have loved it no matter the beverage. Iain and Naomi have almost nothing in common on the surface, but that’s probably what makes them such an awesome couple. I loved experiencing their journey with them.
While I enjoy historical romance, there’s something to be said for a modern woman who knows what she wants. Naomi is probably my new favorite heroine.
The subplot involving Iain’s new whiskey brand was compelling, despite my lack of knowledge in the beverage industry. The resolution there was a fun surprise, and I’m happy to know certain characters will be sticking around River Hill.
