I love kicking off my first in-person event for the year with one of my favorite pop culture conventions! Farpoint is an amazing blend of all the great stuff you’d find at any comic con, but in a smaller, more intimate setting that allows attendees to do more than pack into a ballroom or shuffle down endless rows of booths.
| Farpoint 2026 January 30-February 1, 2026 Sheraton Baltimore North Hotel Towson, Maryland |
Even though this is a “local” event for me, I’ll be staying at the hotel and around all weekend! Below is my official schedule. The rest of the time, don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like to meet up for a meal, a drink, or just to chat.
Friday
3:00 PM: Alternate History: Creating Stories by Changing the Past (presentation; McIntosh Room)
Join author J.L. Gribble for a brief discussion of alternate history storytelling methods, then put your creativity to work in audience-participation worldbuilding exercises!
Saturday
11:00 AM: Writing and Motivation: Why We Write What We Write (panel; McIntosh Room)
Writers discuss how and why they chose to write about the particular subjects, characters, and themes in their stories.
-> With Gregory A. Wilson, John L. French, and Ray Van Horn Jr (I’m moderating!)
3:00 PM: Author Autograph Session (West Foyer)
Stop by for postcards with links to free stories, bookmarks, and stickers. I will also have limited copies of all my books on hand to sell, including the full Steel Empires urban fantasy series; Earth and Water and Service Before Self, my debut paranormal and contemporary romances; and Fur and Honor, my PNR novella.
Sunday
12:00 PM: Author Autograph Session (West Foyer)
Same as the day before, but probably with more caffeine!
