Apparently, today is December 1. The year is almost gone.

Sounds fake, but okay.

My highlights from last month included running away to the beach for a writing weekend with friends I haven’t seen in way too long, finishing revisions to Earth and Water, and having a few writers friends look at the outline to the Service Before Self (a contemporary military romance). Good news! Earth and Water is now 22k words longer, with bonus steam and angst, and all the feedback on Service Before Self has been wonderful. I’m excited dive into that world for a bit and try something completely different before returning to paranormal romance.

For December, I’m officially counting down to a milestone birthday at the end of the month, which I’ll be celebrating with friends in Atlanta with an epic New Years Eve party. Before that, I’m enjoying the traditional holiday celebration of my people, which is “there aren’t any more kids in our immediate family so let’s all take a cruise instead.”

Have you pre-ordered Earth and Water yet? That would make the best Christmas, Hannukah, and birthday present for me!

Updates & Upcoming

Steel Legacy (Steel Empires #7): The formatting is complete, and I’m just as excited to see the cover art as you are! [expected publication: Early 2024]

Service Before Self [previously known as the untitled contemporary military romance]: The positive feedback on my extensive outline and notes means a green light to start this draft! [expected publication: Summer 2024]

[secret novella project]: I was thrilled to be asked to submit a novella to a charity anthology. More details as soon as I’m allowed to share them! [expected publication: Summer 2024]

Blood and Ink (Steel Bonds #2): [in the writing queue]

Events: No official writing appearances are on the schedule for December, but I’m travelling at the end of the month for the holidays. I’m definitely looking forward to writing time on the balcony of my cruise cabin!
